Another friend lost

I heard the news that a friend of mine from high school lost her life on Wednesday, March 30, 2005. Her name is Miroslava Barrera, more commonly known as Miros (pronounced Mee-dose). She died in a car wreck in California. She was a good friend of mine for all 4 years of high school even though she went to another high school in another town close by. We met at a local church and that is how we became good friends. We actually we together (boyfriend/girlfriend) seriously for about a month. Unfortunetly, we didn't ever keep in touch after high school graduation in 1995 (except for a couple of emails we sent briefly to each other in college). I have a lot of good fun memories with her and the friends we shared. We all will miss her.

I'm sorry, I didn't get your name? I found your website on a google search and there you were. I only ask because I am Miros's sister in law, married to her brother Mike. I am glad to know Miros was remembered. Are you in Brownsville still? Did you make it to the memorial?

I knew Miros after she moved to Austin. We were the best of friends. She decided to move to California but we stayed in touch via phone conversations once a week right up until the end. I couldn't figure out what had happened to her--maybe she moved again? Then after waiting for a phone bill to check I was calling the right number and realizing I was, I let it go for about three weeks, then googled her to see if there had been an address change. Unfortunately what I got instead was an article regarding her death in a car crash. I was crushed. I was trying to get her to leave California and come work for some friends back here in Austin. It still is just crushing. I truly loved that woman and her spirit. md_oz@yahoo.com

Still missing Miros, three years later. Does anyone have pictures from the memorial? I knew her here in San Diego. I think about her off and on. Especially when I pass by the crash site. I attended her small funeral here. I worked with her in a Century 21 office and hung out with her outside of work. I remember going to work the Monday after, and she wasn't there. Tuesday, it was weird because she still hadn't come in or touched base. I hadn't called her yet to find out what was up, then heard she crashed from a coworker. My heart broke.
